Pastor Will

Rev. William C. Haggis II is from the Tuscarawas Valley of eastern Ohio.  He was called to St. Mark’s and the Van Wert community in 2005.  The Haggis family resides in Van Wert.

Will’s hobbies include camping and traveling; exercising and martial arts; reading; contemporary and traditional Christian music as well as playing trumpet; and occasionally deer hunting.

His education includes Wittenberg University; Christ and Notre Dame College and St. Katherine's University of Liverpool, England; Trinity Lutheran Seminary; and internship/residency at both Hope Lutheran Church of Bowers-Lyons Station and The Lutheran Home of Topton, Pennsylvania.

Pastor Will was ordained in 1987 by his father, Rev. Dr. William C. Haggis, and Assistant to the Bishop Edward T. Winkler.  His first pastorate was at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Newcomerstown, Ohio for eighteen years.

Will's pulse and heartbeat for Christ's church is turning uninterested people into the hands, voice, an heart of Jesus.

Pastor Will serves on the Van Wert County boards of both Developmental Disabilities and the YMCA, is the dean of the Southwest Conference of the Northwestern Ohio Synod, and participates on the congregational Resource Team of the Northwestern Ohio Synod.

Meisa Coplin has served as St. Mark's Office Administrator for 19 years as of May 15th of 2019.  Meisa attended UNOH in Lima, Ohio where she graduated in June of 1989 with studies in Paralegal.  After a short period of living in Memphis where she worked at the Memphis Bar Association, she moved back to Van Wert and worked as a paralegal/legal secretary in Napoleon, Ohio.  During those 2 years she met her husband, Doug and they were married May 28, 1994 and will soon be celebrating 25 years together.  They have two daughters, Amanda and Katie.  Doug & Meisa are looking forward to watching Kathryn begin her senior year of high school and her college search. Amanda has graduated from college and is working in Columbus, Ohio. In her spare time, Meisa enjoys reading a good book, usually a mystery of some kind, camping, tennis and volleyball but mostly looks forward to watching her girls in their activities.  She was club director of the Northwest Ohio Volleyball Club for 3 years and coached 12 & 13 year olds for 5 years.  She has also been involved with the VWHS Booster Club as a team representative, Vice-President and 2014-15 as President.

Stacie Korte has served as St. Mark's Senior Choir Director for 11 years.  She has been the Director of Choral Music at Lincolnview Junior/Senior High School for over 20 years.  Stacie attended Bluffton University, where she earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree.  She studied voice with Sharon Barr of Lima and Dr. Debra Brubaker of Goshen College.  Stacie is actively involved in the Ohio Music Educators Association where she co-chairs the District III OMEA Junior High Honors Choir Festival.  She is also an OMEA adjudicator for High School and Junior High Solo and Ensemble Events.  Most recently, she has enjoyed co-leading Vacation Bible School at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.  When not involved with music, Stacie enjoys spending time with her husband Neil and their son Brad.

Dee Fisher, serves as St. Mark's Organist.  She is the owner and operator of Fisher Music Studio. Dee is a native of Celina, Ohio, and a graduate of Celina Senior High School.  She began music study at the age of 8 and continued in private lessons throughout her high school and college years.  Besides, this, her pre-college credits include junior and senior high school choir (A Cappella choir, Chamber choir, and Girls Glee club); three years of high school musicals; playing organ at church (from age 12); Solo and Ensemble contests; many instances of vocal and keyboard soloing at local civic organizations and churches.

Dee attended Southeastern College of the Assemblies of God (now Southeastern University) in Lakeland, Florida, graduating with a dual B.A. degree in Sacred Music and Biblical Studies.  After college, she was music director/choir director/pianist and organist at the Celina Assembly of God and the St. Mary’s Church of Christ.  She began teaching privately in 1982 in Celina, branching out to Van Wert in 1988.  During this time, Dee also became involved with local community theatre and has music directed, performed in, or played piano for more than 100 productions between 1985 and the present.  She has worked with Van Wert Civic Theatre, Wapakoneta Theatre Guild, Fort Findlay Playhouse, and Jesters Roving Players.  One of her proudest moments in theatre was in 1995, when she and 22 other thespians from Ohio represented North America at the International Amateur Theatre Association conference in Ankara, Turkey.

After moving to Van Wert in 2001, Dee met and married the love of her life, and together they opened a new studio for her behind their home.  Currently, Dee teaches full time (5 days a week) in the studio, plays organ/piano and accompanies the choir at St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church, plays piano (and sings) in clubs and at banquets and receptions in the area, and continues her participation in theatrics at Van Wert Civic Theatre and Jesters Roving Players in Vaughsville.  Most recently, she has also become a Consultant for the Pampered Chef (in her spare time!).

Monica Campbell has served as the Handbell Choir Director at St. Mark’s since 1985, and as the Children’s Choir Director since 2005.  Monica also serves as a tower chimer, tower chimer instructor and scheduler, and a member of the Worship & Music and Learning Committees.  She is also the co-director of the annual Sunday School Christmas Program.  Monica is a 50-year member of St. Marks, and in the past has served on church council, has been the advisor for the high school youth group, has taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and has been involved in a number of other committees and small groups.

Monica has lived in Van Wert nearly all of her life.  She graduated from Indiana Tech in 1997 and started her telecommunications career at GTE shortly thereafter.  She is currently employed as a Billing Specialist with Frontier Communications in Fort Wayne.  Monica is actively involved with two theaters in Van Wert - Van Wert Civic Theatre (treasurer, 2009-2015) and Offstage Productions (board member, 2009-2015).  She’s been a cast member in numerous productions with both theaters, most recently playing “Peaches” in “Rex’s Exes” at VWCT in January, 2015.  She has also served as photographer and has assisted both theaters in various ways with many productions.
Monica has two sons, Josh and Jon, and four grandchildren - Kassidy, Alexa, Conner, and Lola.  She enjoys spending as much time as possible with her family.  Other hobbies include photography, crafts, baking, and traveling.
